Revelation Chapter 17 (R17a)

          False Christs (1st Seal)

The Great Harlot
Rev 17:1-2  Then one of the seven angels who had the seven bowls came and talked with me, saying to me, "Come, I will show you the judgment of the great harlot who sits on many waters, with whom the kings of the earth committed fornication, and the inhabitants of the earth were made drunk with the wine of her fornication."
Who is this great harlot who causes the world to commit drunk fornication?

Rev 17:3  So he carried me away in the Spirit into the wilderness. And I saw a woman sitting on a scarlet beast which was full of names of blasphemy, having seven heads and ten horns.
The harlot sits on the beast with seven heads and seven horns.
Rev 12:3  And another sign appeared in heaven: behold, a great, fiery red dragon having seven heads and ten horns...

Results of Satan's Deceptions
Since the fall of Adam and Eve, God gave Satan permission to test the faith of His people. Men succumb to the devil's deceit too quickly and fail miserably.
In the days of Noah, only eight from his household were found faithful to survive the deluge. God called Abraham to leave his idolatrous kinsmen in Ur and led him on a journey to a land that he had not known about.
Hypocritical Israelites rejected the law of Moses which was written on stone tablets rendering them blind and ignorant. Jewish Theologians and Priesthood even reduced the book of Daniel to sayings in the Hebrew bible. Daniel accurately prophesied the timeline of their Messiah's crucifixion and many end time events in the Hebrew bible.
Beware of the Hebrew bible which sent many Jews to damnation for missing the First Advent of Jesus in the past and it might cause you to miss Rapture in the future.
It is predestined that the Word was made flesh to overcome the wiles of Satan. Having overcame the devil and death, Jesus gave the Spirit of Christ to every disciple, to help them overcome Satan's deceptions.

Apostolic Church
Acts 4:32-34  Now the multitude of those who believed were of one heart and one soul; neither did anyone say that any of the things he possessed was his own, but they had all things in common. And with great power the apostles gave witness to the resurrection of the Lord Jesus. And great grace was upon them all. Nor was there anyone among them who lacked; for all who were possessors of lands or houses sold them, and brought the proceeds of the things that were sold,
The Apostolic church was filled with the Holy Spirit, powerful, staunch in faith and acted in love. It did not give the devil a foothold to stain the church.

Heresies in Early Church
Acts 20:29-30  For I know this, that after my departure savage wolves will come in among you, not sparing the flock. Also from among yourselves men will rise up, speaking perverse things, to draw away the disciples after themselves.
Paul knew that some of the converts would one day become savage wolves, the devil's agents. They will bring destructive doctrines into the church to destroy Christians.

New Testament Church
Rev 2 – 3 revealed the disastrous outcome of the seven New Testament churches when they allow destructive heresies to brew up a storm in their congregation.

Seven Heads of the Dragon
Rev 17:9  "Here is the mind which has wisdom: The seven heads are seven mountains on which the woman sits."
Vatican City in Rome which sits on seven mountains is the centre of Christianity. The seven heads of the dragon represent the power and authority that God gave to Satan for the testing of our faith.
