Fifth Seal
Great Tribulations Ahead
Mat 24:21-22 For then there will be great tribulation, such as has not been since the beginning of the world until this time, no, nor ever shall be. And unless those days were shortened, no flesh would be saved; but for the elect's sake those days will be shortened.
After the Fourth Seal (WW3), the new generation of Christians will have to face the Fifth Seal or Period of Tribulation. This includes the greatest tribulation ever, that even the elect disciples might fall.
Is God going to allow His newly born children to be deceived and to face the lake of fire?
Let us take a leaf out of God's book on how He transformed the fearful and faithless Israelites into brave warriors.
Fearful and faithless Israelites
Deu 1:26-27 "Nevertheless you would not go up, but rebelled against the command of the Lord your God; and you complained in your tents, and said, 'Because the Lord hates us, He has brought us out of the land of Egypt to deliver us into the hand of the Amorites, to destroy us.'
God commanded Moses to lead his people out of slavery in Egypt. In spite of that, God hardened the heart of Pharaoh, so that He could unleash the 10 plagues on the Egyptians.
After the 10th plague, the Egyptians gave gold, silver, garments, livestock, and everything that the Israelites wanted so that they can send the Israelites away. God parted the Red Sea to open up a path for His people to cross over to dry land. The pursuing Egyptian army was drowned when God closed the sea around them.
God sent manna to feed them daily and gave them water flowing out of the rock. God made them His people and dwell in the tabernacle, with a pillar of cloud during the day or a pillar of fire during the night.
Regretfully, when they heard that the Canaanites were powerful with high walls and there were also giants, they rebelled against Him. These faithless and fearful Israelites had forgotten the miracles and the power of the Almighty God when they were faced with certain defeat and death.
New Generation of Israelites
Deut 11:18-19 "Therefore you lay up these words of mine in your heart and in your soul, and bind them as a sign on your hand, and they shall be as frontlets between your eyes. You shall teach them to your children, speaking of them when you sit in your house, when you walk by the way, when you lie down, and when you rise up."
God killed those faithless Israelites during their 40 years of wandering in the wilderness. The next generation who were born and raised in the wilderness might not have witnessed the miracles in Egypt, but they were taught the word of God and had to memorize the Torah.
Jos 1:16-18 So they answered Joshua, saying, “All that you command us we will do, and wherever you send us we will go. Just as we heeded Moses in all things, so we will heed you. Only the Lord your God be with you, as He was with Moses. Whoever rebels against your command and does not heed your words, in all that you command him, shall be put to death. Only be strong and of good courage.”
The word of God strengthened their faith and transformed them into a strong and fearless new generation of Israelites. Their faith gave Joshua the encouragement to be bold and courageous.
New Generation of Christians
God will take charge of His children during WW3 in the same way He tended the Israelites in the past.
1. God killed all the faithless Israelites - God will kill all faithless and sinful Christians.
2. God provided manna and water - God will provide food and water every day.
3. The Israelites were taught the word of God - God will dispatch learned Christians to disciple new converts.
This new generation of Christians will charge forth as the representative of God to carry out good works. They are confident that as a child of God no harm nor death can get near them without God’s approval. They are well prepared to overcome the coming fifth seal, a period of tribulations, great sufferings and martyrdoms.
