Seventh Seal (God's Wrath)
Two Witnesses
Rev 11:1-2 Then I was given a reed like a measuring rod. And the angel stood, saying, "Rise and measure the temple of God, the altar, and those who worship there. But leave out the court which is outside the temple, and do not measure it, for it has been given to the Gentiles. And they will tread the holy city underfoot for forty-two months."
At Rapture God will send two witnesses to occupy the Antichrist Temple in Jerusalem.
Who are the 2 Witnesses?
Rev 11:3-4 And I will give power to my two witnesses, and they will prophesy one thousand two hundred and sixty days, clothed in sackcloth." These are the two olive trees and the two lampstands standing before the God of the earth.
Olive tree just like Jesus, anointed with the full measure of the seven Spirits of God (Rom 11:16-26)
Lampstand knowledge and understanding of God's will, words, ways and works (John 14:21, 23)
These two (likely John the apostle and Enoch), who had complete faith and love for Him, are specially prepared for this mission.
Mark 10:40 "but to sit on My right hand and on My left is not Mine to give, but it is for those for whom it is prepared."
Rev 11:5-6 And if anyone wants to harm them, fire proceeds from their mouth and devours their enemies. And if anyone wants to harm them, he must be killed in this manner. These have power to shut heaven, so that no rain falls in the days of their prophecy; and they have power over waters to turn them to blood, and to strike the earth with all plagues, as often as they desire.
The two witnesses have the power to obliterate their enemies, to bring plagues and disasters on mankind, which reminds us of the similar signs of the 6 trumpets or 6 bowls judgement. We deduce that the wrath of God in the 6 trumpets/bowls are partially conjured by them.
Rev 11:7-8 When they finish their testimony, the beast that ascends out of the bottomless pit will make war against them, overcome them, and kill them. And their dead bodies will lie in the street of the great city which spiritually is called Sodom and Egypt, where also our Lord was crucified.
Jerusalem the holy city of God (where our Lord was crucified), in the last days will be
1. called Sodom - homosexuality and same sex marriage are legalized. Abominable Gay Parades celebrating its depravity and rebellions defile the land.
2. called Egypt
Idolater - fears and worships USA as its saviour and protector instead of Yahweh.
Unbelief in Yahweh and the OT (God's words) by signing the abominable PLO-Israel Peace Treaty;
No wonder, our Lord Jesus prophesied its destruction in World War 3 as His vengeance.
Luke 21:20,22 “But when you see Jerusalem surrounded by armies, then know that its desolation is near... For these are the days of vengeance, that all things which are written may be fulfilled."
Rev 11:9-10 Then those from the peoples, tribes, tongues, and nations will see their dead bodies three and a half days, and not allow their dead bodies to be put into graves. And those who dwell on the earth will rejoice over them, make merry, and send gifts to one another, because these two prophets tormented those who dwell on the earth.
Men will be overjoyed to hear that their two tormentors had died.
Rev 11:11-12 Now after the three and a half days the breath of life from God entered them, and they stood on their feet, and great fear fell on those who saw them. And they heard a loud voice from heaven saying to them, "Come up here." And they ascended to heaven in a cloud, and their enemies saw them.
After three and a half days, the two witnesses will be resurrected and caught up to heaven to receive their glorious rewards.
Rev 11:13-14 In the same hour there was a great earthquake, and a tenth of the city fell. In the earthquake seven thousand people were killed, and the rest were afraid and gave glory to the God of heaven. The second woe is past. Behold, the third woe is coming quickly.
